Sympoiesis, meaning "making-with" or "making together," describes human and non-human existence as inherently collaborative, contextual, and emergent, where nothing exists in isolation and everything is perpetually in a state of interdependent becoming. Sympoiesis speaks to a growing area of exploration and curiosity, particularly regarding sustainable and empathetic art practices. Spanning traditional and expanded art practices, the artists in this exhibition are working in relational ways alongside natural processes, materials, and concepts, to give shape to a future where collaboration and care are central to making.
Featuring works by Lucy Allinson (C), Fiona Davey, Dean De Landre, Kim Drew, Benjamin Hoffmann, Michaela McHugh, Regina Middleton, Rachel Morley, Jessi Rebel, and Phoebe Thompson.
