RUT Gallery, Newtown, Geelong

18th October - 10th November 2024

Lucy and Samantha both reside in 3219 (a suburb apart) and share the same birthday, 28th of May (a year apart). The exhibition is an experiment in merging individual creative practices. The collaborative presentation of paintings emerged through conversation. The duo work alongside one another in multiple creative spaces—naturally, a working relationship was formed. During a discussion they wondered, how would our paintings look together? The paintings were previously stored in the artists’ studios. Lucy and Samantha open discussion addressing the lengthy process of selling artwork and the reality of contemporary art being kept in storage, away from the public and peers.
